Very professional, State of the art, for quality dental care, with a friendly warm atmosphere. No one talks down to you, yet all questions are answered in a straight forward manner so l was able to understand everything. I highly recommend North side Family Dentistry to everyone.
Two years ago, we moved to Crossville and Dr. Shanks has been our dentist during that time. We picked him because he was voted by the local residents as # 1 in the area. We trusted their opinion and have not been disappointed. The dental technicians, Lauren and Devon , are very gentle and thorough in their cleanings. Can't really say that we look forward to the dentist, but we don't dread it either. If you're looking for a new dentist, don't hesitate to try Dr. Shanks.
Dr. Shanks and his staff are excellent! You are always greeted by warm smiles and friendly, helpful people who genuinely care that you have a pleasant visit. Lauren Bell is a fantastic hygienist, and makes the cleaning process a pain free experience. I cannot recommend them highly enough!
Lastly, if I were not already a happily retired dental hygienist, joining the staff at Northside would be a dream!

All that is nice, but these people go over and above. I recently had a dental emergency taken care of on very short notice where they treated me right through lunch hour. That is the icing on this cake! I am so appreciative of this, and feel my family has made a great decision to call Northside Dental our dental home.
Love this place and this dentist. He’s the only dentist my children have ever seen and the place feels like home. We’ve been going since they opened. Unfortunately our dental insurance changed at my husbands work and we’re now out of network. Instead of accepting the insurance, seeing how we’ve been very loyal customers for years and years, it’s “Sorry, you’ll have to pay out of pocket and deal with the insurance yourself.” You would think years of loyalty would mean something and we really thought we were valued customers as we certainly valued Northside. My kids are heartbroken but with three kids, we can’t afford to pay out of pocket for all of them. I think what makes it even worse is that other offices in town have told us they would bill the insurance even though they are out of network as well and if they weren’t reimbursed, they would bill us. You would think a place that you’ve been with for so long would be willing to do the same thing. Again, just very disappointed in how much value they’ve put into their long term customers. Very sad.
My decision to seek treatment here is based on the quality and quantity of continuing education and training that Dr. Shanks and his staff participate in. The office is beautiful, the equipment new and everyone is friendly!
